Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for at least 5 minutes.
In a shallow dish or pie plate, add 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour. In a separate dish, beat together the egg and milk. In a third dish, combine 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs, 1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs, 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, finely grated parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and dried parsley.
Working one at a time, dip chicken tenders into the plain flour, shaking off any excess. Then dip them into the egg mixture, and finally into the breadcrumb/flour mixture, making sure to coat them thoroughly.
Place 3-4 chicken tenders into the air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd the basket. Spritz the chicken tenders with cooking oil to coat the dry flour coating.
Cook in the air fryer at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 5-6 minutes, then flip the chicken tenders over and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes until they reach a safe internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
Serve the chicken tenders hot with a dipping sauce, such as alfredo, marinara, or pesto sauce.
