In reply to Becki. Use the Sauté function to cook the bacon, onions, and garlic as directed. Then, add the potatoes, broth, and seasonings, and cook on Manual (High Pressure) for 8 minutes. Let the pressure naturally release for 10 minutes, then do a quick release. Stir in the dairy ingredients at the end and then you can leave it chunky or blend it up.

Instead of thickening with flour, I add a packet or two of country gravy mix. Not only does it thicken the soup, it also adds flavor.
